Novatex is committed to creating a better and more sustainable future for all.
In its Corporate Social Responsibility’s initiatives, the company is driven by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations in the 2030 Agenda for a greener, healthier, fairer and more inclusive planet.
Below we invite you to learn more about the projects and associations supported by Novatex Italia.
In cooperation with the Centro Aiuti per l’Etiopia ODV ETS (Aid Center for Ethiopia), Novatex has set up a multi-year Project that we named “Novatex Village” and is a distance support project for children and families in socially and economically vulnerable situations in Ethiopia.
We have selected a non-profit organisation that was founded in 1983 in Northern Italy and focuses on Ethiopia. For over 40 years, the Centre has been operating every day to fight against all forms of poverty by promoting development, education, social and health care in various areas and villages.
Novatex’s plan with CAE is to provide a contribution to a group of 35 children, to support their livelihoods, following their needs as they grow up, with a focus also on children with disabilities and orphans, who are often left on the margins.
The second part of our multi-year project is aimed at creating a professional path for disadvantaged boys and girls, especially those who are orphans, in order to give them a future as individuals.
The synergy between CAE and Novatex Italia has led to the support of 12 training courses (4 one-year courses and 8 short courses of approximately 5 months) for an equal number of students and female students. These vocational courses will provide them with the practical knowledge to carry out a job aimed at immediate introduction in the labour market.

Child Protection
BRAVEAURORA is convinced that it is the best for a child to grow up in its family or in a family context and therefore has worked for years with the Ghanaian Ministry of Family Affairs to establish the reintegration of orphans into their extended family structures.
Education as a key element for sustainable development cooperation is very important for BRAVEAURORA – because through education, the career as well as career opportunities for children, adolescents and adults expand.
More than half of the population still lives in poverty, whereas the northern part is affected. To avoid poverty and all its associated problems, BRAVEAURORA has worked with the villagers to develop alternative approaches opening new economic sectors, to sustain themselves and their families. These include, for example, the training center, the microcredit program or the biological garden project of BRAVEAURORA.

Since 2024, Novatex launched a project of reforestation thanks to its collaboration with Treedom, who is taking care of the whole planting process from the seeds to the growth of the forest, calculating its impact in terms of oxygen produced and Co2 absorption. In 2024 we started with 200 trees in Ghana and 200 trees in Tanzania.
In 2025 we have added 400 more trees to our forest and have chosen new areas. The criteria for our selection were to achieve even greater economic and social impact, particularly in terms of protection and promotion of biodiversity in poor rural areas and support to women’s empowerment. These are the reasons, which drove us to plant 200 more trees in Tanzania and 200 trees in Guatemala.
We believe that these guiding principles can be shared: creating lasting environmental and social benefits by working with local communities in the countries where they operate, through reforestation projects that improve the quality of life and protect our planet.
In Tanzania and in Northern Ghana Novatex is supporting biodiversity projects, which are impacting the local ecosystems. Trees not only absorb CO2 but also provide shelter and nourishment to many plant and animal species, promoting biodiversity. They create vital habitats for pollinating insects, birds, and other creatures. Additionally, they help prevent soil erosion and improve the soil’s ability to absorb rainwater, stabilizing local ecosystems. This year we have planted 200 more trees in Northern Tanzania, divided in these main areas: Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Same, Muheza & Tanga Regions.
Agroforestry projects improve the food security and economic resilience of communities. Annual crops are integrated with trees that provide additional harvests and diversify income sources, reducing dependency on monocultures that are vulnerable to market fluctuations and climate change.
Novatex is supporting Treedom’s projects because they operate closely with local communities, providing training and continuous support to ensure the longevity of the planted trees. This approach not only improves the environment but also the lives of the people involved, offering them sustainable skills and income opportunities.
Women play a crucial role in these sustainable projects, actively participating in all phases of the process, from nursery creation to tree maintenance. This involvement not only provides new skills but also helps women achieve economic independence. In Guatemala, coffee cultivation and processing projects involve groups of indigenous women,
improving family living conditions and promoting their full participation in the community’s economic decisions.

The cultivation and maintenance of the vegetable garden is the responsibility of the coordinators and ‘disadvantaged’ or disabled trainees of the Paso Cooperative, and allows Novatex employees to directly order the vegetables that have been grown, participating in the Cooperative’s livelihood through voluntary contributions.
‘We do social farming because we dream of a place where everyone has the chance to be useful, to work and to live, and because the land and animals have always welcomed those who are different.’
Paso Lavoro, with the social agriculture sector, has managed to activate since 2013, 46 job placement paths (of which 9 turned into hirings) of ‘fragile’ subjects indicated by various sending bodies (Servizio Collocamento Mirato, Consorzio Mestieri, CPS), creating protected work environments in which the people involved manage to find their own space.
