Alfalfa

Alfalfa is a particularly difficult plant to harvest. The leaves of this plant, which are the most nourishing parts of this legume, must be protected and held by a soft mesh, at the same time capable of containing its stems, which are characterized by a strong structure.

Advise
Avoid drying the crop excessively. For the legumes, the stem lignifies after the period of full flowering while for the grasses the stem lignifies at the beginning of the earing phase, in these periods the basal leaves tend to fall and are more easily detachable. Harvest and wrap up the crop when the night humidity has evaporated, then preferably starting from mid-morning, but not during the hottest hours of the day.
